Managing Four Generations in the Workplace with Cam Marston is the generations-based sequel to the best-seller Mixing Four Generations in the Workplace with Cam Marston.
For the first time in history, there are four generations in the workplace at the same time. Each of these age groups has different expectations and different demands, and employers who cannot recognize these will lose their best employees and see their workplaces in turmoil. In this scenario-based sequel to the best-seller Mixing Four Generations in the Workplace, Cam Marston helps supervisors and managers learn the techniques needed to handle cross-generational communications problems, avoid conflict, and maximize performance.
This program will teach you how to "Gen-Flex" or move into another generation's comfort zone. Do you remember the golden rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you?" The golden rule would be great if we were all the same generation. But because people are different they need to be treated differently. This is the basis for what we call Gen-Flexing, operating in another generation's world. Treat them as they want to be treated. Gen-Flex out your comfort zone into theirs.
Learning Objectives By the end of this program, participants will be able to:
Describe the characteristics, attitudes, and values of each generation
Identify specific actions a manager can take to coach, motivate, and get results from each generation
Determine how your management approach may need to change when coaching, managing and retaining employees of different generations
Discover ways to Gen-Flex™ in order to solve generational problems in the workplace

While at Nestle he discovered that he developed closer relationships with his customers when he talked to them about subjects that appealed to their value systems. He soon learned that his customers had many different values but the values were roughly the same in each generation.
In 1996 he founded Marston Communications. He is the author of the best selling program Mixing Four Generations in the Workplace.

Cam Marston's presentation was the highlight of our annual meeting. The subject matter of the
differences in the generations and how we deal with them was right on target for our audience. Cam not
only enlightened our group but he did so in an extremely focused, well-informed, and entertaining way. I
will certainly be booking Cam again in the future for other meetings that I'll be involved in. Cam was a
real hit and he made me look good! Tennessee Gas Association
Cam’s program exceeded our expectations. He did a great job for us earlier in the year when he spoke
to the HR group and he carried it through with this one. Our attendees could tell that he was familiar and
comfortable with us during this presentation. The audience loved him and kept asking for his books, and
when we ran out of the ones we had on hand, they kept asking us for them until we got copies to them.
That's always a good sign.Harland Company
Cam showed strong evidence of having done his homework on our firm - through his survey and
spending time on our website. That effort made a real difference in the value of his message to our folks.
His leading table talk discussions as part of the presentation, and taking responsibility for collecting that
data and providing it to us following the event helped make it practical - by showing us what we need to
do to meet the challenges these generational differences are brining to our firm.Plante & Moran,

A dynamic, engaging ½ day or full day workshop based on the acknowledged author, expert and popular speaker, Cam Marston and delivered by Dr. Michael Harris a Marston certified presenter.
For the first time in history, four distinct generations - Matures, Boomers, X-ers, and Millennials - are employed side by side in the workplace. With differing values and occasional incompatible views on leadership, attitudes, work ethic, communications and commitment these generations have stirred up unprecedented conflict in the business world. Effective management of this generational divide is vital to improving performance, longevity and success. In fact, it may be the most important demand your company can make of its leaders.
At work, generational differences can affect everything, including recruiting, building teams, dealing with change, motivating, managing, and maintaining and increasing productivity. Think of how generational differences, relative to how people communicate, might affect misunderstandings, high employee turnover, difficulty in attracting employees and gaining employee commitment.
Managing Four Generations is a customizable onsite workshop based on the groundbreaking work of Cam Marston which fosters a greater understanding of each of the four generations and offers practical strategies for working effectively in a multi-generational workplace. The focus will bring all participants together in the learning experience. Depending on the audience emphasis, the workshop can be given to specific generations and/or to management and leadership. It is a valuable experience for all members of your organization.

Learning how to Gen-Flex? by communicating effectively across the generations.

By understanding the different generations participants learn to enjoy and appreciate who they are. This appreciation will help reduce stress in the workplace and creates more enjoyable relationships.
